The fields of applied climatology. Using the results of climatological research in the fields of hydrology, agriculture, remote sensing and satellite meteorology. Interactions of the built-in environment and the climate. Human comfort, health. City planning, urban climate, urban heat island. The effects of climatic extrema on the human society, economy and agriculture.  The importance of the economic utilization of atmospheric resources. Worsening air quality. Regional air pollution and urban environment. The history of using renewable energy sources. The possibilities and tools of using solar energy, wind energy, water energy, biomass and geothermal energy, the methods and efficiency of the energy conversion. The relationship of sustainable development and the atmospheric processes.
